November Client Spotlight: Debra Wildish

This month we chose Debra Wildish as our November client spotlight. Debra started with a limited aerial yoga class and then decided to join us for our Little Black Dress program that began in September. During the 6-week program Debra has made an amazing impact on her health, lifestyle, and our community here at the gym. She is always up for participating in every challenge and is one of the first in line to offer encouragement to others.

Here is a little piece of her story:

Q: What is your favorite inspirational quote?

“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right” Henry Ford

Q: What are your personal health and fitness goals?

Sandpoint Training, November client spotlight

My personal health goal is to feel good in my 70’s and 80’s and hopefully into the 90’s. I like feeling good from the inside out. I want to always be active in my grandchildren’s lives.

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started with us?

I have always been interested in physical activities since I was young. Started off with several dance classes and ended up dancing jazz until high school graduation. Even took a few dance classes in college. I joined a health club in Michigan at the age of 16. I used to go with my mom. It was a fun thing to do together. Since that time, I have always been involved in some form of exercise. I’m one of the weird ones who actually enjoys working out. I have had my ups and downs, leave of absence from working out, but always seem to get back to it.

I Actually discovered Missi’s studio from taking an aerial yoga class. Thought her studio looked interesting and then I saw somewhere about the LBD (Little Black Dress) project. I needed motivation to get started healthy eating again. I’m so glad I did, as I find her classes very challenging as well as different every time. That is something that I also need as I get bored with something that is exactly the same every time. Her recipes are outstanding and having a group to support you along the way is always a plus.

Q: What kinds of results have you achieved so far and how has Missi Balison Fitness made a difference in your life?

Sandpoint TrainingI am on week five of the LBD project and have lost both inches and weight. I do know that I feel lighter inside and my clothes feel a little looser. In fact, someone told me at the yoga studio that my body was changing.

Q: What things keep you most focused and motivated to continue to work hard to reach your goals?

I like how Missi changes it up every session and getting that cardio in is a big plus for me. She has taught me a lot of little tricks, like the HIIT that seem to be helping. I love meeting all the ladies in my classes and chatting for a few minutes with them. It builds a community. Something you don’t really get going to a gym.

Q: What is your “word” of the year?!

My word for the year is Patience. I seem to always want things quickly and right now so I’m working on that daily.

Q:What would you say to someone on the fence about making a change & committing to their goals?
Sandpoint Training

If I could say to someone on the fence about making a change and committing to their goals, well it goes back to my beginning quote “whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.” Just take one day at a time and repeat I think I can, I think I can, I think I can, and you will, just takes a lot of patience.

Debra, you are an amazing addition to the Missi Balison Fitness community! Your participation and encouragement for others is part of what makes Missi Balison Fitness community.
