10 Incredible Benefits Of Infrared Sauna Use

Before we dive into the benefits of the infrared sauna lets talk real quick about what it is!

The near-infrared light within an infrared saunas generates radiant heat, elevating your core body temperature by three degrees. This increase not only induces sweating but also activates your body’s innate detoxification response. The infrared sauna heats from within the body rather than just the air around the outside of the body.  The infrared light waves can penetrate up to about 1.5 inches into the body, affecting so much more htan just the ski

Your body has specialized receptors for red and near-infrared light. These light particles are absorbed by the mitochondria within cells, kickstarting beneficial biological processes and signals. Extensive research demonstrates that this response diminishes inflammation, augments blood flow, oxygenation, circulation, muscle relaxation, and fosters energy production at a cellular level.

This is where you combine heat therapy and infrared light therapy that mimics the power of nature to maximize your body’s ability to repair itself and heal issues from the inside out!

Now,  here are 10 incredible benefits of a full spectrum ( near, mid and far infrared light spectrums)  infrared light sau

Detoxification

As the sauna  elevates your core body temperature, your body’s innate response is to induce sweating. Sweating while in a state of relaxation promotes increased blood circulation to your vital organs, initiating a detoxification process that commences at the cellular level and extends throughout your entire body. In a mere 20-minute session, you have the potential to expel as much as a pint of sweat, along with accumulated toxins and impurities that may have accumulated over time.

Maintaining an active lifestyle can exert significant stress on the body – especially as we age.  Infrared light and heat therapy enhance blood circulation to muscles, a proven aid in the post-workout recovery process. Saunas go a step further by stimulating the release of natural growth hormones in your body, providing the potential for a comeback that’s not just quicker but also stronger.

Immune Boosting

The codl and flu season is fast approaching. Frequent sauna sessions can fortify your body’s defenses against illness. Weight Loss

While you unwind in your session, the sauna keeps your heart pumping, your blood flowing, and your body perspiring. An infrared sauna isn’t a substitute for exercise, but research reveals that simply sitting in the sauna can assist obese individuals in shedding body weight and mass.

Skin Rejuvenation

From addressing cellulite to aiding in wound healing, near-infrared sauna therapy can contribute to restoring a healthy radiance. Consistent exposure to near-infrared light has demonstrated the ability to enhance collagen and elastin production, resulting in firmer, more supple skin and improved healing.

When I am in the sauna I often use my time wisely and do facial massage or facial yoga

Well, ok, if I must look 10 years younger than I guess I’ll do it! 😉

When combined with the healthy choices you make along the way, it has the potential to extend your years. A groundbreaking recent study underscores the positive impact of sauna use, indicating a lowered risk of fatal heart attacks and other significant cardiovascular diseases.

Mental Performance

Research has revealed that near-infrared light possesses a unique influence on the mind. It enhances the connectivity of networks within your brain and amplifies your cognitive processing capabilities, providing you with a revitalized sense of clarity and empowerment to tackle tasks more effectively.  Ummm, brain fog anyone?

Blood Pressure Reduction

Now, this picture is for attention becasue my cat is so cute!! His name is Punkin and my husbaand took him in the saauna because he is having some pain in his ( Punkin) shoulder. He loved the warmth!

But… the point is that my husband has been using the sauna regularly ( 3x a week) and has seen a drastic reduction in his blood pressure!

Before we had the sauna he was registering at about 161/85 or higher. This haad him nervous (and annoyed).

After just 2 months of regular sauna use his blood presure is now down to 137/85! He is very happy with that

( NOTE: He has also been taking Hawthorn Berry supplements for several months which has helped but the sauna use has amplified the results!)

Stress Reduction

Relaxation plays a pivotal role in achieving a holistic sense of balance – mentally, emotionally, and physically.

During perimenopause and menopause, stress reducing activities are on the top of my list to help women reduce the symptoms of menopause because stress hormones tend to rise during this time ( causing unwanted belly fat and a myriad of other health issues)

Infrared light contributes to the elevation of natural feel-good neurotransmitters, such as serotonin and dopamine, ensuring more joyful days. Cultivating a meditative routine around your sauna sessions is an excellent approach to attain a profound and lasting sense of serenity.

Pain Reduction

Near-infrared light is making its presence felt in physical therapy and pain management clinics worldwide. By stimulating the mitochondria at a cellular level, it effectively enhances circulation, oxygenation, and healing responses, offering a natural solution for those grappling with joint and muscle pain, providing a path to find relief. Here is a great study showing the benefits of infrared sauna for pain relief but I can tell you from personal experience that it is AMAZING and reducing pain and stiffness!  This is going to be a game changer – especially in the winter months!

One of the things I love about the Sauna Space full spectrum sauna we use at the gym, (besides the fact that it is so warm, cozy and relaxing!)  is the portability of it!   I am amazed at how sturdy it is and the materials are top notch!

I put this thing together in an hour and I know that if I want to move it from the gym to the house or move it to a different room in the house at some point it will be a cinch!

It heats up so quickly that I often don’t pre warm it but if I want to save myself a few minutes and get sweating even more quickly,  I just turn the sauna lights on and do a few minutes of stretching or sit in front of the LED “happy light”  to beat the seasonal blues while I wait.

We are now offering sauna sessions to members and non-members.
